Why We’re Building Katalog
Documentation and preservation
We preserve the names of those involved in political repression, along with evidence of their involvement, so that they are not forgotten or erased from history.
Assessment and justice
After a change in Russia’s political regime, the data in Katalog can be used for legal assessment and for transitional justice processes.
Research and analysis
Katalog materials can already be used for research and analysis of repressive practices.
